Rapidus Corporation is a semiconductor manufacturing company established in August
2022, by a group of semiconductor executives with a mission to develop, manufacture,
and provide advanced logic semiconductors and packaging technology.
Semiconductors have become so important that they are now recognized around the world
as strategic materials critical for national industrial security.
In Japan, the development and manufacturing of logic semiconductors stopped at the
40nm generation. Rapidus is committed to jumping over generations of technology by
starting with the 2nm generation of gate all around silicon.
As digitalisation progresses rapidly and we enter a full-fledged era of artificial
intelligence, driven by technologies such as generative AI, we believe that regaining
the cutting-edge logic semiconductor technologies that Japan has lost is essential to
the creation of new technologies and applications. We also expect that our activities
will lead to the revival of Japan as a technology-based nation and contribute to
industrial development not only in Japan but also around the world.
We selected Chitose City, Hokkaido, as the location for IIM (Innovative Integration
for Manufacturing). This area is blessed with abundant natural beauty. We will conduct
our activities in harmony with nature and focus on reducing any environmental impact.
Our mission is to develop, manufacture, and provide cutting-edge semiconductors made
in Japan to the world.
